Celebrating Success: Yat-Yee Chong, Axon Martial Arts Academy

Image
While searching for enriching activities for her children and family, Yat-Yee Chong discovered the martial art, Tae Kwon Do. While her family eventually left the practice behind, Yat-Yee found that she had both an aptitude and an attraction to the sport. In 2020, after multiple black belts and a 2015 World Championship win, Mrs. Chong has taken her passion for Tae Kwon Do and opened her own studio. Yat-Yee opened Axon Martial Arts Academy in Loveland, Colorado with the vision of teaching individuals and families this martial art she has mastered. Starting from shared spaces with dance studios and gyms, Yat-Yee began offering classes a few times each week, fitting them in between the schedules of the programs she shared facilities with. Celebrating Success: Nicole Murphy, Grace Yoga and Wellness

Image
Today, I visited Grace Yoga and Wellness in Loveland, Colorado, a business owned by my friends Nicole and Ryan Murphy. I've been inspired by their story since I've known them, but today I'm even more inspired after seeing what their business has become. To learn more about them and the business they've created, I'm going to recommend visiting their website, https://lovegraceyoga.com   You can read their story there and see where faith, vision, courage, and hard work can lead. Even if you're not a local resident, I'd encourage you to just hear and see what they've created.  If you are local, you need to go for an in-person visit sometime soon. There is something there literally for everyone. I wish Nicole, Ryan, and all others associated with Grace Yoga and Wellness a happy 11th anniversary in business. You've achieved something that most small business owners and founders never reach, and your success is well deserved! #smallbusiness #yoga #lovelandc...

Podcast! From Management to Hobby farming with Melissa Davis

Image
My guest for this episode is hobby farmer Melissa Davis. 8 years ago Melissa Davis left a management career to begin growing food for her family. After several years of preparing the soil on her family’s micro farm, Melissa now grows about half of the food her family consumes in a year.  She calls it hobby farming, but it sounds like more work than most hobbies. This is her story about her transition from corporate work to working in the soil, and her new interest in acquiring a small manufacturing business.
